After a 30-year career with Delta Air Lines, Lucia “Lucy” McBath’s second career came about after her son was tragically shot and killed. Lucy turned her loss into a mission, fighting for gun reform on a local and national level. Today, she holds dual roles as the national spokesperson and Faith and Outreach Leader for Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
Lucy will bring her dedication to community, business experience, and social justice passion to Congress to improve the lives of all Georgia families. Lucy’s understanding of the people of Georgia is complemented by her experience working with all sides of issues for positive change. She recognizes the immediate need for sustainable transportation solutions as Georgia grows, advocates for providing quality healthcare for all, and fights for equal rights for marginalized populations. Lucy also values accessible and affordable education, founding the Champion in The Making Legacy Foundation that provides financial and mentoring support to graduating high school students attending a wide range of post-secondary programs.
She earned her degree in Political Science from Virginia State University and currently lives in Cobb County, Georgia with her husband.Lucy's Website
