What is #10Questions

#10Questions is a Twitter interview between one of our candidates and our founder, Holly Figueroa O'Reilly. Follow along with us on our BWCS Twitter.

#10Questions begins 🔥NOW with #BlueWave2018🌊candidate @JanzforCongress who is looking to unseat Devin Nunes in #CA22.

Welcome, Andrew, so glad you could join us! How are you this evening? Ready to answer #10Questions? #COTD #BWCS

"I'm here!"

Yay! Q1: Let’s get right to the Russian elephant in the room: you're running against obscure incumbent and everyone’s favorite lapdog, Devin Nunes. Your district is reliably red and there is still some love for Nunes there. How can you flip enough R’s and I’s to flip #CA22 blue?

"It’s all about turnout and enthusiasm. We also have a winning message about change and bringing jobs and infrastructure to the district. We have a great ground game that will get out the vote. Nunes can’t compete with us on the ground."

Q3: There have been several ICE raids in CA this year, including one in Fresno County. What kind of legislation would you introduce or support to protect these families and DREAMers?

"We need a clean DACA bill. I’ve been a supporter of Dreamers since I was a young college student. I helped get the California Dream Act passed into law in 2010. We need a federal version. A vast majority of Americans agree. My Dreamer friends are not bargaining chips!!"

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Q3 (for real this time). More than 300 public water systems are currently out of compliance with state code. There has been split support for Senate bill 623, which would pay for water treatments. Would you support that bill in Congress?

"I support that bill. I just spoke to a mother of three who is forced to bathe her children with bottled water. This is shameful. We need federal help like we saw in Flint Michigan. We also need to get rid of @ScottPruittOK at the EPA."

I couldn't agree more. If it were me voting people off of Trump Island, Pruitt's would be the first torch I'd snuff out.

Q4: Schools in #CA22 are underfunded. As Congressman, what is the *first thing* you would do to support schools and make sure that teachers are paid fairly?

"Generally speaking teacher salaries are controlled at the state and local level. The best immediate action I can take as a congressman is push federal laws that protect organized labor. Labor and educators are under attack re Janus case. @BetsyDeVosED needs to go too!"

Sadly, y'all, I’m going to have to beg off a little early! 😢Thank you, Andrew, so much for taking the time to talk with us today!

I’ll leave you with this question and if you’d like to pick up a couple others from the comments, there are plenty here to chose from...

Q5: What is one issue we haven’t covered today that is an important one affecting your district, and where can people learn more about your campaign and how to support you?

"Water. My district feeds the nation. It’s a vital national security issue that we as a country have the capacity to grow our own food. We just got out of a long-term drought. We don’t have the water storage infrastructure to support agriculture or our towns. We need to support the water bond that will be on the November ballot. It’s supported by environmentalists and farmers. Dems and Republicans."
